Cypress Hill's Celebrating 25 Years Of Their Classic Debut w/ An Incredible Vinyl Reissue

For many of us, 1991 served as something of a watershed moment for both hip-hop and the cultural it nourishes. The year saw classic releases from the likes of De La Soul, Slick Rick, Gang Starr, Geto Boyz, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, and that's just a very short list. An album that often gets overlooked when discussing that formidable year is Cypress Hill's self-titled debut, a classic in its own right, that drew out a blueprint for sample-based hip-hop for years to come.

On August 13th, Cypress Hill's debut will officially cross the quarter-century mark, and in celebration of that milestone, the west coast crew is gearing up for the release of a potent CD reissue more fit for a mantel or trophy case than the bookshelf. The reissue will arrive in a black skull (a recreation of their logo at the time) with fully-remastered audio and a 100-page hardcover book(let) containing liner notes penned by Chris FaraonePre-orders will go live on August 13th, with shipments slated for September. There will only by 1,991 copies made available (go figure) so be sure to act fast. This is an absolute treasure for any diehard Cypress Hill fan. Head over to Get On Down for more info.
