The Weeknd - "Kiss Land" + "John Carpenter"

The Weeknd is back on the radar with a new album, Kiss Land, out later this year. The r&b-meets-dark-psychedelia project of Abel Tesfaye has dropped a seven and-a-half minute title track. It's as sexual as one would expect. Halfway through there's an ambient section and the track morphs into what could be titled "John Carpenter" based on a low-quality snippet of the same song which Tesfaye uploaded to youtube earlier this week. Longer "experimental" r&b songs seem to be a thing right now (I'm looking at you Frank and JT). As in his older songs, the MJ influence is still heavily prevalent in his vocals, but the songwriting has if anything greatly improved since the release of his Trilogy. Stream both songs below and stay tuned for more information on Kiss Land.
