Azealia Banks is wishing you a happy holidays with bars, vocals, and holiday cheer.
Azealia Banks has just inducted herself into the pantheon of rappers with Christmas songs— and this one is actually really good.
Banks dropped “Icy Colors Change” on Christmas Eve, describing it as “a work in progress” and part of a full holiday project that she plans on re-releasing on vinyl next Christmas.
The rapper is never behind on bars, but the track is also another window into Banks’ laudable attempts at singing— she has the range. So much so to be deemed the ne plus ultra of the age-old rapper-slash-singer title.
“Icy Colors Change” is one of several Banks releases this year. The now independent artist dropped a visual for her single “Escapades” in October, and the first episode of BRUJA DELBLOQUE earlier this month, a podcast where she delves into culture, society, and politics.
The rapper, singer, and now actress stars as the lead in the newly-released rap battle, RZA-directed romance film, “Love, Beats, Rhymes” co-starring Common and Jill Scott .
Banks is set to headline Ultra Music festival’s 20th anniversary concert next March in Miami.
