Meek Mill and Megan Thee Stallion shared excellent videos last week.

Meek Mill is back with a track titled “Early Mornings.”

Megan Thee Stallion drops another video off her second album Tramauzine, “Ungrateful.”

And EST Gee links up with Future for a new single, “Shoot It Myself.”

Megan Thee Stallion, Key Glock – “Ungrateful”

Colin Tilley directs Megan Thee Stallion’s latest dark-themed video. She’s attending a funeral, rapping in a ’90s esque bedroom and is exquisitely styled even as an alter ego persona takes over towards the end. This is a strong visual release from the Houston rapper, it’s also her second clip to drop off of her second album Traumazine – it follows “Her.”

EST Gee, Moneybagg Yo, CMG The Label – “Strong”

EST Gee and Moneybagg Yo unleash their latest which is a solid collaboration titled “Strong.” Directed by Diesel Films, the video for the new single follows EST Gee as he travels and tours, GloRilla even makes an appearance. He’s joined by his team for most of the clip. This is another example of videos from rappers that feature cameras that merely point and shoot, it’s effective.

Meek Mill – “Early Mornings”

Just when we thought the video drops were over for the week, Meek Mill shared “Early Mornings,” a loosie. The visual is indicative of the trend we’ve been seeing since last year: documentary-style clips. When Meek prepared to release Expensive Pain, the directors he worked with spearheaded this trend, and other directors swiftly followed. Many of Meek Mill’s clips shot like this were energetic, so it’s refreshing to see one that’s a bit more slowed down. “Early Mornings” continues this lineage with moments from Kensington, Philadelphia, Dyckman and presents a strong case for why, stylistically this trend works so well.

EST Gee, Future – “Shoot It Myself”

Future and EST Gee released the video for “Shoot It Myself” by Diesel Films last week. It has a sinister feel, but it also features close-up shots that work extremely well. The cinematic shots mashed up with quick pivots to other scenes make for an enjoyable watch.

G Herbo, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie – “Me, Myself & I”

G Herbo gets an assist from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie for his latest “Me, Myself & I.” Narrative-driven clips always stand out amongst the slew of point-and-shoot videos that are utilized in rap right now. Herbo and A Boogie trade bars which are paralleled alongside a bevy of uniquely angled shots.
