Best Hip-Hop Videos To Drop Last Week: Westside Gunn, Black Star, Latto & More

Last week video releases from Metro Boomin, Westside Gunn, Latto, and GloRilla were revealed.

Westside Gunn and Black Star release the video for "Peppas," the Griselda rapper's latest single.

Latto teams up with GloRilla and Gangsta Boo for her new track "FTCU."

An additional video that was released last week was Smoke DZA's "Season."

Westside Gunn, Black Star – “Peppas”

Black Star steals the show in the new video for Westside Gunn’s single “Peppas.” Shot outside of Peppas Jerk Chicken in Flatbush, a Caribbean spot, in our opinion, Talib Kweli, and Yasiin Bey are the center of attention. The clip is straightforward and isn’t overdone, which is what makes it stand out.

Smoke DZA, Girl Talk – “Season”

Another New York-themed video to add to the week is Smoke DZA’s “Season” produced by Girl Talk. Much of the visual focuses on Smoke DZA’s shopping habits at stores like Celine and Balenciaga. He pops through Little Italy in Manhattan which adds a bit of necessary energy to the clip – besides this moment, the camera pivots and captures him rapping comfortably wearing pieces by Joe Fresh Goods, Dapper Dan x GAP, and more. This one keys in on Smoke DZA's affinity for New York City.

Metro Boomin, Future – “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)

For Metro Boomin’s “Superhero (Heroes & Villains) video, the Atlanta producer and Future are transported into an alternative world. Inside their universe, they use cryptocurrency, strippers are there, Future is rapping while wearing a golden face mask and Metro is still making trap beats. There are a few key points in the visual that also point to Metro’s background in Atlanta.

Latto, GloRilla, Gangsta Boo – “FTCU”

Latto returns and releases “FTCU” featuring a female rapper she looks up to, Gangsta Boo, and another fellow Southern artist, GloRilla. The hook is very catchy and it interpolates the legendary track “Tear Da Club Up” by Three Six Mafia. This is yet another performance clip that relies on the infectious energy of Latto and GloRilla. Their chemistry is excellent throughout the visual – everything that’s being served up gets the job done.
