TLC has jumped back into the spotlight with the arrival of CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story - the VH1 biopic that tells the story of the celebrated r&b trio from their earliest aspirations to worldwide fame, detailing the drama, heartbreak and triumph that filled the space in between. The film directed by Charles Stones III premiered last night to widespread fan reaction. Responses ranged from heartfelt expressions of love for the group and their catalog to memorials to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who was killed in a car accident in Honduras in 2002. There was massive praise for Lil' Mama's portrayal of the deceased star - an end result that flies directly in the face of skepticism about her involvement that emerged after she was cast for the part - and varying degrees of disgust directed at TLC's former manager Perri "Pebbles" Reid, who reportedly bilked the trio out of millions of dollars at the height of their success. Her role in their troubles - exposed to the public for the first time with the airing of the film - induced fans to bite back, ultimately making Twitter the unlikely co-star of the highly-anticipated production. Fan's reactions to Pebbles have arrived in such great quantity and been so visceral, that Pebbles has responded with threats to file a lawsuit against TLC for slandering her name and reputation. The world outside of Pebbles' timeline continues to shower the group with love and TLC's forthcoming LP 20 sits amongst the top 50 albums on the iTunes Charts, proving that they have truly made peace with their past and begun to move on. The film captured the attention of over 4 million viewers during it's debut - a statistic that may officially mark the beginning of TLC's next chapter. Supporting their desire to move forward, T-Boz and Chilli addressed their old wounds in an interview with The Breakfast Club ahead of the film's television debut.
