The latest edition of Amoeba’s ‘What’s In My Bag’ series features the incomparable Earl Sweatshirt and Samiyam. You know the routine, your favorite artists go shopping at Amoeba Music LA and share their purchases with the viewers. We start with a few of Samiyam’s horror movie picks in Madcow, Viral Assassins, Redneck Zombies, and the 80s classic The Toxic Avenger (and its’ many sequels). From there we get into the music with a few albums from The Residents, Ethiopian Soul and Groove, and some gospel records from Savoy records. Earl also slips up and shares some of the secret sauce, so if you want some clues into his sampling inspiration, pay attention.
