Billionaire investor Ray Dalio has unveiled his newest mentee, hip-hop mogul Diddy.
Over on Twitter Dalio shared, "He asked me to mentor him to help him take his great success to another level." Dalio is known for founding Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund. He founded the investment company back in 1975 and has been a global macro investor for 45 years.
Diddy has remained a well-respected figure and leader in the hip-hop industry over the years. He began his career at Uptown Records as an intern and later an A&R. He was mainly responsible for the beginning stages of the beginning of the careers of Jodeci and Mary J. Blige. As the years moved forward he founded Bad Boy Entertainment, pushed Notorious B.I.G. into stardom. A robust list of artists acclaimed success and fame under Diddy's watch. Years later he has founded numerous lucrative businesses as an entrepreneur under his company Sean Combs Enterprises.
The previously mentioned tweet also features a clip of a 25-minute sit down meeting between the two. In the video, Diddy asks Dalio how he reset and moved to a point in his life where he believes he began to flourish. The Bridgewater Associates founder answered by sharing: "Once you start to realize that you don't have to do everything yourself." He expanded on this by going on to share that hiring talented people assists with taking a weight off of you so you can dedicate time to other things.
Additional topics in the clip include radical open mindedness, building talented teams, and also keeping the bar high for success.
