Missy Elliott will reportedly be joining the halftime show lineup for Super Bowl XLIX, which kicks off this Sunday in Arizona and will be broadcast live on NBC. According to a report from Billboard (via AP), Elliott is scheduled to make an appearance during Katy Perry‘s halftime set. An anonymous source privy to the details of Sunday’s performance told an Associated Press source on Thursday that Elliott had been added to the bill as a surprise guest. If true, she will rock during the set as a guest alongside Lenny Kravitz, who has already been confirmed. Though Elliott’s performance has not been confirmed by the NFL, the report also suggests that Perry recently gave fans reason to believe it might be true:
During a news conference Thursday, Perry hinted at Elliott’s involvement, saying the halftime show would include an “old school” female singer.
But Perry would not say who that was.
