Dolphin "Young Black Mind"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Dolphin probably isn’t a name you’re familiar with (as it pertains to music, at least). However, it’s looking like you will be seeing this guy’s name quite often in the near future. “Young Black Mind” is the first release from the Baltimore based musician, but he’s no rookie. Apparently, this man has written and recorded over 50 full-length albums over the past 10 years, and has never officially released any of them, until now. To get the music rolling out, we have “Young Black Mind,” a 7-minute anthemic track that is described “as autobiographical and specific as it is universal and ubiquitous.” Just like all of his songs, Dolphin wrote, produced, recorded, and played all the instruments on this track. You can listen below, and purchase the single via Fresh Selects. Suffice it to say, there’s much more music to come. Photo: Raheel Bear.
