Absolutely No One Thinks French Montana Can Beat Kendrick Lamar in a Song-for-Song Battle (Including Young Thug)

French Montana believes he has more hits than Kendrick Lamar. This didn't sit right with most fans, including Young Thug.

French Montana is a confident rapper. Very confident. During an interview with Complex earlier in the week, French talked about his Instagram Live battle with Tory Lanez (A battle most fans feel French won, including Tory.) The Bronx rapper believes he could battle anyone. Then he dropped the name of the greatest living rapper right now: Kendrick Lamar. While acknowledging that Kendrick was a better artist, French said he believes he got more hits than Kendrick.

Here's what he said:

Honestly, you could put somebody like Kendrick Lamar next to me on the same stage at a festival. I might outshine him... not because I'm a better rapper or whatever it is. It's just that I got more hits...Kendrick Lamar got albums. He got masterpieces. But if you were to put us on the festival stage I would outshine him because I have more hits than Kendrick Lamar.

As the story circulated, fans scoffed at the idea. French went to Twitter to reclaim what he said earlier: that he feels like he can go "neck to neck" with Kendrick, adding "how many times I gotta prove myself before I get mind [SP]..."

Here are the tweets:

Little did he know this would blow up. First, absolutely no one on social media is on French Montana's side.

Even though he was getting relentlessly fried, French Montana was still holding his ground. He even put up a list of songs he would play in a Kendrick Lamar battle:

One person who is firmly on the French-Montana-can't-beat-Kendrick side is Young Thug. Young Thug posted a short clip mocking French's claim that he has more hits than Kendrick Lamar.

French responded with a quick jab on Twitter and then Instagram.

Young Thug then proceeded to go off,  releasing a whole bunch of videos dissing French, calling him all kinds of names and saying he has a video of him getting beat up.

French responded with his own set of videos. At one point he offered Thug a million dollars if he released the video of him getting beat up.

All of this comes just days after French settled his 15-year beef with Jim Jones. (In the Complex interview he mentioned trying to be a good example for younger artists.)

Earlier this week French released his latest single, "That's a Fact."

We have no idea if he would play this song in a hypothetical battle with Kendrick. (He probably shouldn't.)
