After having a well-received second season, Donald Glover's television series Atlanta is back for a third season.

The announcement came from FX via a report from Variety.

"Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done," Nick Grad, FX Networks and FX Productions co-president, said. "With Atlanta: Robbin' Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season. We're grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places."

However, what remains unknown is when the third season will premiere. Solo, the Star Wars film where Glover portrays a young Lando Calrissian, was recently released. He's also preparing for a forthcoming tour under his music moniker Childish Gambino, having recently released a new song titled "This Is America."

The other stars of the show are busy with their own projects as well. Zazie Beetz recently starred in the blockbuster sequel Deadpool 2 alongside Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin. Brian Tyree Henry will star in the upcoming films Hotel Artemis and White Boy Rick, while Lakeith Stanfield will play the lead role in the film Sorry to Bother You.
