Steve Stoute's newest documentary The Tanning Of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop sets out to explore the total cultural impact of our fine tradition. That is to say, how hip-hop has effected social and political interaction at large. With testimonies from some of our greatest luminaries -- including Nas, Pharrell, Rev Run, Dr. Dre, Rick Rubin and the director himself-- Stoute shines light on how our burgeoning culture has infiltrated suburban iconography and how hip-hop may have facilitated the election of the first black president.
