Ill Camille and D4NGERBOY Remix Christen Lien's "The Escape"

Ill Camille and D4NGERBOY flip the track into "The Great Escape."

On Friday, Ill Camille and D4NGERBOY dropped a hip-hop remix of Christen Lien's "The Escape" from her album ELPIS. The two, with a little help from Grammy-winning producer Gordon "The Commissioner" Williams, have renamed the track "The Great Escape." Stream the full video below.

Lien previewed the video last week, adding that she and the two artists would be working on a special project in the near future.

"Gordon Williams took my song and elevated it," she wrote, "to help tell the story of ELPIS and courageously address the challenges of our world today."

Williams, dubbed "The Commissioner" by KRS-One, was born in the Bronx among the burgeoning era of hip-hop. He's worked with major names like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley, Babyface, Diana Ross, New Edition and Quincy Jones.

As senior director of A&R at Sony Music, he worked heavily on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and the movie and soundtrack to Men in Black. The former earned him two Grammy awards for the album. Williams provided sound mixing services on Hill's subsequent world tour. In the 2000s, he won another Grammy for mixing Carlos Santana's multi-platinum album Supernatural. In later years, he earned credits on Joss Stone's Mind Body & Soul, Amy Winehouse's debut album Frank, and Damian Marley's Welcome to Jamrock.

Ill Camille makes up half of HARRIETT, along with Damani Nkosi. The two are celebrating the recent anniversary of their self-titled debut album. Find that and "The Great Escape" on all major digital streaming platforms.
