In the wake of the Las Vegas terrorist act, the gun control debate is back on the frontlines.
Celebrities have become active and are actively pleading with Congress, trying to get their respective representatives to act on gun control.

A range of people from Kim Kardashian to Ariana Grande to John Legend have all went on the record supporting gun control. And then there was Questlove, who was not only calling for gun control but was actually tweeting at representatives with the amount of money that senator or congressperson took from the NRA:

This isn’t a strategy that The Roots frontman invented. Igor Volsky, the Deputy Director of CAP Action and the Director of Guns Down America, started this tactic in 2015 after the San Bernardino, California attack. For every “thoughts and prayers” tweet, he quote-tweeted the amount of money the NRA donated.
It’s a tactic that Volsky is still doing:
.@RepMcCaul took in $25,000 from @NRA.
Urge him to #SendBackTheBloodMoney & work to to reduce gun violence: https://t.co/WbJtDAsPcb https://t.co/L1YG2Ldvg1

.@virginiafoxx took $21,900 from @NRA, all she’ll do is #thoughtsandprayers
Urge her to #SendBackTheBloodMoney: https://t.co/WbJtDAsPcb https://t.co/dp6oDgxzNW

.@RepBuddyCarter took $4K from @NRA to pray about gun violence but do nothing to stop it. #SendBackTheBloodMoney https://t.co/WbJtDAsPcb https://t.co/arkFvV7ayS

If you want something to be done about gun control, just know it starts with legislation, not prayer.
