OKP News: John Legend Gets His Own Sitcom?

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Okayplayer extraordinaire John Legend has apparently inked a new deal with the Fox Network (not the same company as Fox News, just FYI) to produce a sitcom based loosely on his own life story. As Urban Daily reports:

Singer-songwriter John Legend is further diversifying his portfolio. Legend just sold a sitcom to the Fox Network loosely based on his life. Along with signing the deal with Fox for the sitcom, Legend will also be a producer on the as-yet-untitled show with his production company Get Lifted Films. The show centers around a man in his early twenties whose life is in disarray. While struggling to get his professional and social lives in order, he inherits the responsibility of caring for his younger siblings. The arrival of his siblings further sends the main character’s life into a tailspin and hilarity ensues.

Legend has had both feet firmly planted in TV-land for a minute now what with his role in the Duets talent contest show and his recent Pre-Grammys special on Showtime, which was also developed as a series with Legend in an executive producer role (and maybe still will be). More must-see TV is doubtless in the workd so pass the (microwave) popcorn and stay, you know, tuned.
