Dam-Funk's Latest Loosie Will Reduce You To "Human Dust"
“Recorded late last nite”
One of the many things this writer adores about Dam-Funk is the man’s relentless work ethic, virtually unmatched by any of his peers. Which is to say, while y’all were counting sheep, your boy was hard at work counting beats. Late last night, the Pasadena synth savant dove into the studio (as he tends to do) and didn’t come up for air until a smooth-as-silk loosie reared its head from the boards.
That loosie, aptly-titled “Human Dust,” has made its way to the world in record time, landing on the legend’s Soundcloud page in the wee hours of the morning, serving as yet another reminder of his immutable woke-ness. And all on the heels of his DJ Kicks debut, schooling the world on the buried boogie treasures that only he can dig up from what we know to be an absolutely massive archive. Hear Dam-Funk’s latest gem in the player below. He spins at Minneapolis’ Amsterdam Bar tonight with a follow-up at the Natural History Museum tomorrow night. Grab a copy of his DJ Kicks mix on iTunes today.
