Earlier this year The Internet‘s lading lady, Syd, announced that she’d been working towards the completion of her debut solo record. And now it appears that we have confirmation that the finishing touches are in place:

Syd, who’s been nothing short of pervasive over the last few years, both with and without the band in tow, revealed in an interview with Pharrell on OTHERtone Radio that her solo material would “probably be a lot more mainstream” than what fans have come to expect from The Internet. But clues as to what’s en route have arrived sporadically over the last year in the lilting “Smile More” and the pulsing loosie “Amazing.” No word on whether they’ll make the final cut for the album, but for now they’re certainly something to revisit if you’re itching for more Syd in your life. There’s yet to be a name or release date pegged to the album, but that’s all in due time. For now you can refer to her Soundcloud page to get acquainted with solo Syd. Keep your eyes on us for updates on the project as they arrive.
