Unauthorized Michael Jackson Musical Will Blame Sexual Abuse on His Glove
The stage play will tell Michael Jackson’s life story from the perspective of his signature sequined glove.
The authorized Michael Jackson musical is in the works. However, independent playwrights are adding their own creative takes on the King of Pop’s story. According to the Hollywood Reporter, a Los Angeles playwright is creating a play from the perspective of Jackson’s signature glove.
Many outlets previously reported that Johnny Depp’s production company was producing the play. One of Depp’s representative has replied to the reports, saying Depp’s company is not producing or involved in any way. THR has more details on the upcoming show.
The play is titled For the Love of a Glove: An Unauthorized Musical Fable About the Life of Michael Jackson, As Told by His Glove. According to the Reporter, the play tells the story of “what happens after a group of aliens shaped like gloves crash-land in Gary, Indiana.”
There was reports that Johnny Depp and his production company Infinitum Nihil were helping produce of For the Love of a Glove. But, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp says he is not involved in any kind of way.
