Ephraim Sykes Will Star as Michael Jackson in Upcoming Broadway Musical
Tony Award-winner Christopher Wheeldon will be directing and choreographing the show.
The upcoming Michael Jackson Broadway show officially has its main man.
Ephraim Sykes will be playing the King of Pop in MJ The Musical. Sykes previously appeared in Hamilton and is currently playing David Ruffin on Broadway in Ain’t Too Proud.
For two years, Sykes toured with the Alvin Ailey II company, after graduating from the Ailey/Fordham University BFA program. Sykes is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida.
“Ephraim Sykes is a bonafide triple threat, and dynamic rising star on Broadway. I am honored to be working with him on this exciting new production,” Christopher Wheeldon, the director, said in a press release.
MJ previews begin at the Neil Simon Theatre on July 6, 2020. The show will premiere on August 13.
