L.A. Area Station KDAY Ditches Rap Radio
Los Angeles area radio station 93.5 KDAY-FM is reportedly scheduled to switch formats pending the sale of the station and call letters. The Redondo Beach station dedicated to r&b and hip-hop is scheduled to transition over to a Chinese on-air format in the coming months. The change follows a $20 million deal for owners Magic Broadcasting to sell the station to RBC Communications. The potential loss of KDAY is a loss for the hip-hop community it has promoted and been a part of for over two decades - a record that has included championing west coast vets NWA and others.
