The Revelations showed you they weren't your mom and pop's r&b act a few weeks ago when we formally introduced you to the group with the premiere of the visuals for their impressive contemporary take on The Isley Brothers' "Why When Love Is Gone." Now its time do away with the formalities as we bring you the group's fourth studio album The Cost Of Living, which struts all 31 flavors of funky organic rock-driven soul in one comprehensive release.

The pallet covered here is expansive and complex, borrowing cavernous shades of blue and purple from the likes of P-Funk, Jimi Hendrix, Al Green and even a little Sly. Its an impressive and fluid body of work that's sure to get some spins as the days get warmer and the Brooklyn rooftops become overrun with lazy hazy folks, unwinding from the work week. So by all means, warm up to the new sonics from BK's premiere funk ensemble The Revelations and be sure to cop The Cost Of Living when it drops next Tuesday April 29th via iTunes on Sony's RED Music. Keep your ears to the ground folks, we'll have plenty from the this ill collective soon.
