Chuck D Schools Nardwuar On Blowfly, Motown, Malcolm X + So Much More

There are exactly two good things about SXSW; the massive music mania that ensues for five days straight and the onslaught of new Nardwuar interviews that turn up thereafter. Ritual gift-giving ensues, but this particular session with The Human Serviette is almost entirely run by the pioneering Public Enemy frontman Chuck Dand his encyclopedic recall of hip-hop and soul legends, down to the fringe labels that pressed their wax, somehow eclipsing even nerdy Nard's exceptional talents for R&D. Chuck schools the famed Canadian journalist on the legacy of Clarence Reid AKA the infamous, raunch-loaded Blowfly (who claims to have written his monumental cut "Blowfly's Rap" in 1965!,) the Motown revue and the many manners in which Malcom X's words have been spliced and diced over the years (from Alan Douglas' ultra rare tribute to Keith LeBlanc's classic early sampling endeavor "No Sell Out".) And that's not even close to the end of it, but I figure we might as well give you something to look forward to. All in all, it was another insanely insightful interview with Nardwuar, that proved even The Human Serviette can get schooled once in a while. Watch Chuck D conduct class below.
