Quantic takes his mystical and worldly sonics into the limelight as he sits in session with KCRW, discussing his well-publicized vinyl collecting schemes and performing a few new tracks from his MagneticaLP. The session kicks off with British producer delving into how his father showed him how to listen to records and began showing him the way of the crate digger. It didn't take long for Q to develop his own method of madness when it came to hoarding records, eventually landing him with a literal ton of vinyl to ship to NY when he moved there a few years back.
He then jumped off the hot-seat and began to knock out a few new tracks with a flown-in crew of bandmates. First up was the funked-out title-track of his upcomingMagneticaLP, then after a few lesser known tracks, we a got a curious groove, laced with cumbia -- no doubt a vestige of his Columbian residency -- which turned out to be his lead-off single "Duvido." All in all, it was a proper showcase of his production chops, band-leading skills and overall musical output.
