Her response directly follows Gina Rodriguez’s social media debacle.

Earlier this week, actress Gina Rodriguez went viral due to a clip in which she rapped the n-word on Instagram. Following the video, Cardi B‘s name was brought into the conversation since she has Dominican/Trinidadian-American roots.

Fans have in fact inquired why the rapper is able to rap “n*gga” while Rodriguez is being reprimanded on social media by fans. In June Cardi B shared a video touching on race saying, “It’s like, ‘Cardi’s Latin, she’s not Black.’ And it’s like, ‘Bro, my features don’t come from f*cking white people f*cking, okay?’ And they always wanna race-bait when it comes to me. That’s why I have Afro features.”

Earlier today, she tweeted a response to a Twitter user claiming she “never accepted being black” and “acts like a black woman” by sharing “How do you act like a black woman? How do black women act?”

Following the above tweet, she retweeted an old video of herself speaking about following “pro-Black pages” which showed her how to love her hair and love herself in addition to inspiring her. She then tweeted “But the crazy sh*t is when I did videos like this people used to say are you black ‘but you speak Spanish so I just started saying I’m carribean cause had to always argue and then people started claiming that I don’t claim my blackness.”
