Songwriter and producer Justin Raisen took to Instagram to publicly address the credit dispute.

Lizzo has been accused for the second time of plagiarism over her chart-topping single "Truth Hurts." The breakout song recently spent six weeks as No. 1 on the Billboard 100 chart.

Producer and songwriter Justin Raisen recently took to Instagram to share a video comparing "Truth Hurts" to a song he allegedly wrote with Lizzo and others back in 2017 titled "Healthy." Both of the songs feature the opening line "I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b*tch," and the melody is also the same.

The Instagram caption further details Raisen's account of the lack of attribution for the song:

"We were never contacted about being credited for the use of the parts of "Healthy" (melody, lyrics, and chords) that appear in "Truth Hurts". After reaching out to Ricky Reed and Lizzo’s team about fixing it, we put the song in dispute in 2017 when it came out. We’ve tried to sort this out quietly for the last two years, only asking for 5% each but were shut down every time."

Justin also went on to share that he was making the accusation public due to "emotional distress." Yet he made it clear that he was not doing so to "throw any negativity toward Lizzo’s momentum and movement as a cultural figure."

Lizzo was previously accused of plagiarism in February of last year by British singer Mina Lioness for allegedly stealing the "100% that b*tch" lyric which Mina originally shared on Twitter in February 2017. The singer called out Lizzo on Twitter to which Lizzo replied sharing she'd never seen the tweet and was actually "inspired" by a meme she saw on Instagram.
