The party will also serve as a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief.

This coming September marks the 30th anniversary of the premiere of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. To commemorate the milestone, DJ Jazzy Jeff is throwing a virtual block party on Saturday with some special guests.

The “Break the Monotony Block Party” will feature 60-minute sets from Just Blaze, DJ D-Nice, and more.

Additionally, Jeff announced he’d be launching a 10-piece limited-edition collection called “Fresh Prince/Summertime.” A portion of proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry, which seeks to provide healthy meals for children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The idea came up that it would be cool to do a block party with not just me DJ-ing,” Jeff told Rolling Stone. “So I called up some of my friends and said, “let’s make this an all-day thing;” let’s stay in the house, cook some food, make some drinks, and dance in the kitchen together.”

This past March, Jeff endured a four-day bout with the virus after making a trip to Idaho for an event. He appeared on CNN to discuss the experience.

“I’m terrified because I don’t want anybody to go through what I went through,” he said. “So it’s just kind of like, ‘I need you to understand whether you feel in excellent condition or not, you need to heed the warning…you might not be sick, but you may be a carrier.”
