Wu-Tang, Chance The Rapper, LL Cool J + More Get The Marvel Remix Cover Treatment
A few months back Marvel announced the renewal of its variant hip-hop cover campaign with a grip of new illustrations that reimagined album art from Earl Sweatshirt, King Mez and Desiigner with the heroic flair of your favorite caped and non-caped crusaders.
Today they add even more to the mix with a fresh batch of new art for modern and vintage classics. This week’s reveal features six gorgeous covers that transform some of your favorite works into living, breathing panels. LL Cool J‘s Bad now features the mighty soon-to-be televised Luke Cage (Marco D’alfonso), Chance The Rapper‘s Coloring Book with young Nova –by far one of the illest superheroes in the MCU– gracing the cover (Christian Ward,) a regal Doctor Doom taking the place of Big Daddy Kane on the cover of Long Live The Kane (Anthony Piper,) as well as Salt N Pepa‘s Hot, Cool & Vicious (Risa Hulett,) Kevin Gates’ Islah (Jeff Dekal,) and last but far from least, The Wu-Tang Clan‘s 2001 flag-toting claissic, Iron Flag, replaced by Marvel’s new Champions BKA The Totally Awesome Hulk, Cyclops, Spiderman, Nova, Ms. Marvel and Viv Vision (Rahzzah.)
And it appears this is far from the end of it, with plans to continue the rollout throughout the fall. Peep Marvel’s latest grip of remixed hip-hop covers above and below. Hold tight for the next transmission.
