Watch A Trailer For The New 'De La Soul Is Not Dead' Documentary

On September 7th Mass Appeal will release its own De La Soul documentary, highlighting the illustrious, albeit complicated, past of the foundational Daisy Age trio in De La Soul Is Not Dead.

The De La documentary will be the second released in just as many as weeks, following the accompanying 30-minute We're Still Here (now) treatment released last week with the group's first album in 12 years, And The Anonymous Nobody. The doc will delve into De La's late-eighties come-up, as well as the sampling clearances that plagued their post-3 Feet High And Rising career, and plagues them still today with most of their catalogue still not being available to stream or even buy through most online distributors. Their new album And The Anonymous Nobody was released independently last Friday, crowdfunded via the second-highest grossing Kickstarter campaign in the site's history (earning over $600,000 in just a month.)

You can pick up your copy of the album on iTunes (or any of your preferred outlets) today. Watch the trailer for the De La Soul Is Not Dead documentary below and hold tight for the official release next Wednesday.
