40 Love

For this latest OKP premiere we get some new music from San Francisco based group, 40Love. The Bay Area collective is comprised of emcee/vocalist Miss Haze, rapper G-OFF, and DJ/producers Mikos and The Whooligan. I like to think they share my affinity for 40 ounce malt liquor beverages, but their name actually represents being formed 40 years after the Summer of Love in Frisco. Typically incorporating a blend of electro, soul, and hip-hop, they keep it closer to the boom bap side of things with this latest single “Anywhere” featuring Black Spade and Anthony Coleman II. Says G-OFF of “Anywhere”: “The song is about conveying the beauty of Traveling, performing music and keeping it genuine. There’s nothing like truly being yourself while seeing the world and establishing strong connections with like minded people.” 40Love’s new album, Dreams Don’t Sleep, will be out July 24th and has features from Zumbi of Zion I, Black Spade, The Park, and more.
