By now we all know that Dave Chappelle will be making his return to television by hosting this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live. Not only is the comedic genius hosting, which honestly would have been enough for me, we get to witness A Tribe Called Quest as the musical guests.
Wait, that still ain't all, if you've been living under a large, large boulder, Tribe is also releasing a new album, their last. Tribe's new album, which is titled We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, will be out this Friday, November 11th.
The project is said to boast features from Andre 3000,Kendrick Lamar, Talib Kweli, Anderson .Paak,Jack White, Elton John, and others. The album came together following Tribe's performance on The Tonight Show, their first television performance in over a decade. The group decided that they needed to get back into the studio for one last musical outing. Read more about it in the illuminating article by Toure in the New York Times and head here to read about all the facts we've found out about the album so far.
Dave Chappelle and A Tribe Called Quest will be appearing on SNL this, yes this, coming Saturday. Until then watch a short teaser for what is undoubtedly going to be a historic show.
