Okayplayer.com is proud to present The Lesson featuring the rocking house band Gentei Kaijo live at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, October 17th. The event this week follows a solid two-year run of stellar weekly events that found the band packing out Arlene’s Grocery to shake the foundations every Thursday. The monumental jam series has quickly become a fixture on the NYC music scene, showcasing an eclectic mix of artists including some of the city’s top vocalists, musicians and MC’s. With the hip-hop at its core, The Lesson is set to bring an undeniable groove to Brooklyn with a show that champions the spontaneity and brilliance of improvisation and the magic of live music:

Clear your calendar – It’s going WAY down! “The Lesson” jam session/party takes its weekly experience to Brooklyn Bowl for a one-off on October 17th, and you’re invited to take part in the love! The Lesson, hosted by the band Gentei Kaijo, is a collaboration of instrumentalists, vocalists, poets, and emcees creating hip-hop with a style and spirit that defies genre. The mantra is simple: check your ego at the door, stay in the moment, feel the love coming through and LETS GROW!!! Bring a guest, your dancing shoes and hang loose. This is going to be epic!

Check the footage below to get a taste of The Lesson. Click the link at the top of the post to enter to win passes for the upcoming jam. Purchase tickets via brooklynbowl.com. Make sure you are in the house for The Lesson on October 17th. You do not want to miss this!
