Michael Che To Perform Sold Out Show For Planned Parenthood

Michael Che is putting on a special stand-up show, and donating all of the proceeds to Planned Parenthood.

Yesterday (Thursday) the Saturday Night Live comedian took to his Instagram, where he announced that he would be hosting a show at the Knitting Factory on Monday, and giving all of the money made to the nonprofit organization.

Inevitably, the show sold out in minutes, with Che reassuring fans that he would do another show in the foreseeable future.

Having dubbed the event a “Secret Show,” Che did not state who will be a part of the night’s festivities, but did say that whoever managed to purchase a ticket is “in for a show.” Plenty of comedians have had their rise through the Knitting Factory, including Hannibal Buress and Che’s fellow SNL co-star Pete Davidson. But Che will likely bring an all-star roster for the night, which attendees will surely appreciate.

Late last year Che released his stand-up special Michael Che Matters on Netflix.

The show finds The Weekend Update star offering hilarious takes on a number of topical subjects such as Black Lives Matter, marijuana legalization, gun rights, Donald Trump and much, much more.

“We can’t even agree on Black Lives Matter. All lives matter,” he sarcastically says before adding “That would be like if your wife came up to you and was like ‘Do you love me?’ And you were like ‘Baby, I love everybody. What are you talking about?'”

Also, remember the SNL that Dave Chappelle hosted? Well, apparently, Che and Chappelle collaborator Neal Brennan had written a sketch for that night in which Chappelle would have reprised his role as Rick James. The skit was supposed to be in celebration of Trump’s loss for the presidential election, but considering that did not happen the sketch was scrapped last minute.
