New iPhone models are coming.

Apple is reportedly planning to release a trio of smartphones later this year: the largest iPhone ever, an upgraded handset the same size as the iPhone X, and a less expensive model, all of which will have facial recognition and an edge-to-edge screens.

Apple is already running production tests with suppliers and is expected to announce the new models this fall.

According to a report in Bloomberg, the company aims to boost sales after iPhone X’s missed expectations that may have stemmed from the phone’s $1,000 tag price. Apple sold 77.3 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2017, which was below analysts’ projections of 80.2 million units.

With a screen close to 6.5 inches, the big new handset, code named D33, will be one of the largest mainstream smartphones on the market. the body will be roughly the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus, and the edge-to-edge screen design will make it about an inch larger.  The new iPhone X has internally been dubbed D32.

Apple also may be considering a gold color update for the iPhone X and the larger model.

Apple may also offer a dual-SIM card option for the larger model that would allow consumers to use their phones in countries with different carrier plans without having to swap out cards.
