YG to Star in Race Drama Set in the '70s Called "Tuscaloosa"

YG is hitting the big screen.

The "Stop Snitching" rapper is set to star in a coming-of-age indie film set in 1972 Alabama called, "Tuscaloosa."

The movie, which is based on the W. Glasgow Phillips novel of the same name, also stars Natalia Dyer from "Stranger Things," Devon Bostick, Tate Donovan,and Marchánt Davis.

Deadline reports, in the Phillip Harder-directed film, is set in the summer of 1972 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The story follows Billy Mitchell of Tuscaloosa’s white middle class who must navigate family, class, race, and love in the period after the violent racism of Tuscaloosa’s 1964 “Bloody Tuesday."

He falls in love with a woman named Virginia and reckons with the realities of his environment's injustices.

The film has reportedly been in production since 2017 but a release date has not been announced.
