Pusha T being the writer for McDonald’s popular “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle is now a known fact after being revealed two years ago. However, it turns out the rapper doesn’t own any publishing for the jingle he originally created back in 2003.
“I took a super L,” Push said about the jingle. “Just upfront, no publishing. Shoutout to [former music executive] Steve Stoute, he gave me the check and I was like ‘Ahhh great.'”
“I want artists to know that part. Keep your publishing,” he continued. “That check will be nice, but ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ been running for how long now? I did This in ’03. Who knows what it would have been.”
However, the Daytona rapper also revealed that he has publishing rights for another popular fast-food jingle.
“The get back is real. I also own 40 percent of the Arby’s commercial. You live and you learn,” Push said, referring to the slogan “We have the meats” that comes at the end of their most recent commercials.
Recently, Push spoke about J Prince claiming that the Drake had a career-ending response for him.
“I just feel like if there was something that was beneficial for either of those two guys, they would do it,” he said. “I think they’re into doing anything that’s beneficial for them…I don’t want to call them scared. I just want to say that they’re thinking. They’re doing what’s best for them.”
