Watch Common Freestyle — Again — with Up-and-Coming New Orleans Rapper on 'The Tonight Show'

Common and Ray Wimley both got bars.

On Monday, August 13th, Common appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The rapper was there to talk about The Kitchen, his new movie which also stars Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy.

But it wasn't all business for Common. The rapper had some fun. He did a version of the Wheel of Freestyle game, backed by The Roots. (This wasn't the first time he played the game.) For this segment, he was joined by up-and-coming New Orleans rapper Ray Wimley. Last month, while in New Orleans for Essence Music Festival, Common bumped into Wimley freestyling in the streets. Common decided to hop in and join the cypher.

It seems like the two stayed in touch. For Wheel of Freestyle, they freestyled using the phrases  “cookie dough,” “kitchen sink,” and “Hot Girl Summer.” They then kicked another one, this time using the phrases "WiFi password," "Portrait Mode," and "marching band."

Later on, the rapper also performed his new single "Hercules" alongside Swizz Beatz.
