For their subject, Mr. Wonderlove, a moment to discuss an early-career turn towards activism emboldening the Motown institution with a social and political consciousness unseen and unheard in r&b and pop at the time; a moment to reflect on maybe the only other presence in music with a comparable caliber of catalog: Prince. Here, Wonder reveals that he’d spoken with the late icon not too long before his tragic passing and that their connection, their creative and spiritual kinship, was formidable.
