GloRilla Reps Her Hometown In Memphis Grizzlies Commercial

Memphis-born rapper GloRilla narrates new ‘Big Memphis’ commercial for hometown NBA team Memphis Grizzlies.

GloRilla is putting on for her city. The Memphis-born rapper narrates a new ‘Big Memphis’ commercial spot for NBA team Memphis Grizzlies, where Big Glo declares “This is our city… everything we do here is big.”

After the viral success of her breakthrough smash “F.N.F.”, GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, signed to Yo Gotti’s label Collective Music Group. Since being considered next up in rap, Woods followed up “F.N.F.” with Duke Deuce collaboration “Just Say That,” “Blessed,” and new Cardi B-assisted single “Tomorrow 2.” The latter song skyrocketed to #1 on Apple Music upon its release last Friday (September 23). On Saturday, Big Glo joined A$AP Rocky during his brief set at Rolling Loud New York.

Narrating commercials for the Memphis Grizzlies isn’t the only way GloRilla reps her hometown. Earlier this month, the rapper donated $25,000 to her alma mater Martin Luther King College Prep High School, also giving students a performance of “F.N.F.”

“I want them to be able to know that anything they put they mind to is possible. Long as they got a dream, then you gotta reach for the stars,” she said according to Fox 13 Memphis. “It feels real good to be able to have a platform and be able to come in and help students that come from where I came from.”

“We are beyond excited that our former student is returning to the halls she once walked as a student,” MLK College Prep Principal Chiquita Perry said. “We are extremely proud of Ms. Woods and thankful for her acts of service, leadership, and fellowship in her community.”
