OTIS REDDING LIVE AT THE WHISKY A GO GO
Over 50 years ago, from April 8th-10th of 1966, the then 24 year-old Soul and R&B star Otis Redding, performed at the nightclub Whisky A Go Go, located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. The historic performance was well attended by the likes of Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Robbie Krieger,Stephen Stills, and others. Remixed and remastered from the OG 4-track analog tapes, a new six CD set of the three night performance, arranged in chronological order, is about to be released. The performance at Whisky A Go Go, a club that mainly catered to hippies and the counter culture crowd, was somewhat of Redding's introduction to white audiences. He was the first major Soul act to grace the stage at the historic nightclub that in 2006 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Redding, who would be 75 this September 9th, died in a plane crash on December 10, 1967. He was only 26.
