Activist and writer Shaun King claims that someone is targeting him and his family.

King took to Twitter Wednesday night to reveal that someone reported a false child abuse complaint to New York Child Services (ACS) against him and his wife, Rai King.

The incident began when King was preparing to go to a musical his daughter was in. While he was getting ready he received a call from his doorman at his apartment building that someone was there to check on his kids.

"We don't hire and have never hired outside childcare for our kids. The kids were all with me," he Tweeted. "I knew immediately that something was very wrong. I was confused and even wondered if they had simply called the wrong person. I asked my doorman again who was there. He said 'a woman is here and she wants to talk to you about childcare for your kids.'"

King asked the doorman to put the woman on the phone, who knew the names of King's children. She then told the activist that she works for New York Child Services and was investigating an anonymous report that he and his wife "abandoned [their] children and allowed them to do drugs."

After speaking with the woman he asks to speak with her supervisor, who then warned King that if he didn't allow child services to interview his children they were going to call the police.

"Under no circumstances will anybody from the NYPD or New York Children's Services be speaking to anybody in my family," he said. "I'm going to have to be in violation of New York law, but you will not force my children to participate in a single interview over a false complaint. PERIOD."

No other information is known about the incident. King has offered an update, saying that child services still want to interview his kids.

Rai has issued a public statement which can be read here.
