New York Daily News' Shaun King Is Considering Running For Office

New YorkDaily News Senior Justice Writer Shaun King might be considering a career change.

Earlier this evening, King posted an interesting message on his Facebook page and then on his Twitter account. King, a Bernie Sanders supporter, claims that he is considering making a political run in Brooklyn, the borough he lives in:

After King posted the update, he got countless amounts of comments encouraging him to make the leap into politics. There was a sprinkle of hate, also, but that is to be expected. You know, internet.

It's not unusual to see social justice figures try to run for politics. Last year, around this time, DeRay Mckesson announced that he was running for mayor of Baltimore, his hometown. That wasn't a successful venture for Mckesson.

Will King really take that plunge? We'll wait and see.
