Obama's Half Brother Plans To Vote For Donald Trump

President Obama's half-brother said he was so disappointed with the Democratic party that he will vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Speaking to the New York PostMalik Obama said he supports Trump because of his frustrations with the Obama administration, citing its involvement with ousting Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to the administration's support of same-sex marriage.

"I feel like a Republican now because they don't stand for same-sex marriage, and that appeals to me," Malik said.

Malik also stated that he was disappointed by presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while secretary of state. "She should have known better as the custodian of classified information," he said.

Malik doesn't just like the Republican party because of their stances, but because he also believes Trump "speaks from the heart." "Make America Great Again is a great slogan," Malik said. "I would like to meet him."

Maybe Malik failed to watch Trump's speech at the RNC last week, which was memorable for all of the wrong reasons. Islamophobia, misogyny, xenophobia — Trump's speech was full of offensive and problematic rhetoric. Not to mention that little — if not most — of his speech actually addressed on how he planned to make the country economically better.

But more importantly how could Malik — a black man — support Trump? A man who used his RNC speech to speak to the tragic deaths of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, but not those tragically shot by them? Then again, when you live in Kenya for a majority of the year you don't really need to worry about what's happening in another country.

Malik plans to return to the United States to vote for Trump in November. He used to live in Maryland, where he worked for many years as an accountant and is registered to vote there, public records show. President Obama and Malik have the same father but different mothers. The two siblings didn't meet each other until 1985.
