Earl Sweatshirt Lends 6 Beats to Mach-Hommy's Wildly Pricey New EP

Source: Goldenvoice - Earl Sweatshirt at Camp Flog Gnaw 2017

Nearly $16 per track

Mach-Hommy appears to have figured it all out. The rugged and raw Newark rapper released a new EP today, but it'll cost you the better part of a day's salary to cop.

The allure: six of seven tracks are produced by fellow rap recluse Earl Sweatshirt, who is slowly working his way back to the world and has been caping for his collaborator for years now.

The catch: Mach-Hommy's new Fete Des Morts AKA Dia De Las Muertos EP will run you a gaudy $111.11. And it's not the first time he's put up a project with a steep price tag. In fact, this is quite the break from $1,000 it'll cost you for his September release, THE G.A.T., which is only available on vinyl, or the $213 single he released earlier that month. Neither project can be streamed.

To be fair, it's not as if he's untested or lacks endorsement from peers (co-signs from Alchemist, Armand Hammer, Knxwledge and Earl probably shouldn't be taken lightly.) And it's encouraging to see he puts such high value on his art in the face of a streaming economy. But damn. My day's pay for your mean sixteen is a little steep, my guy.

Should you choose to cop, Mach-Hommy's Fete Des Morts AKA Dia De Las Muertos is available to purchase via Bandcamp today along with the rest of his wildly pricey discography. Scroll on to hear recent collaborations with Alchemist, Armand Hammer and Conway The Machine.
