CeeLo Green had fans worried when video footage surfaced of a cell phone seemingly blowing up on his face, but he assured everyone that he was safe and sound.

In a Facebook Live video, CeeLo said that the footage was a clip for a video being shot for his next record, Gnarly Davidson.

"Actually, what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project I'm doing called Gnarly Davidson. It's supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity," CeeLo explained.

"I'm still going to release the music, though. But first and foremost, for everybody that love me and care about me, I just want to say that I'm OK," he continued. "...I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern."

The original video appeared to show surveillance camera footage of a phone exploding by CeeLo's face as he laid back in a chair. With news this year of certain Samsung phones blowing up, the video went viral with some supporters expressing concern - and others, of course, hurling jokes.

"I just want to let everybody know that I am alive, and I'm well and I'm OK," CeeLo said. "Truthfully, I'm really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today."

On the bright side: new CeeLo, and possibly Gnarls Barkley, music is on the way.
