Big Daddy Kane Calls J. Cole His "Favorite MC Out... Right Now"

Big Daddy Kane gave J. Cole one of the highest honors.

For the last couple of months, legendary rapper Big Daddy Kane has been working on a hip-hop documentary for Netflix called Paragraphs I Manifest. The documentary, which will be focusing on the art of emceeing, will feature interviews with GOAT candidates like JAY-Z, KRS-One, and Eminem

On Tuesday, Big Daddy Kane revealed that J. Cole, one of the sharpest contemporary rappers working now, will be on the documentary. Kane also revealed something interesting: Kane said that Cole was his favorite MC right now. In a video posted to his Instagram, Kane said:

“I wanna give this young brother right here his flowers like on the real... I want this brother right here to know that he is my favorite MC out here right now. This is the brother right here that makes me feel like hip-hop is still alive and it’s here to stay when I listen to this here brother spit and listen to his music. Love you, fam.”

Cole looked visibly stunned. He responded by just saying:

"Love, bro. Thank you, man. I appreciate that, bro. Legendary. Thank you. Shit.”

A couple of years ago, Kane told Okayplayer the same thing — that Cole was his favorite rapper.

"J. Cole is probably my favorite of them all... I think J. Cole is super lyrical, but he also carries himself really well. He projects positivity."

In the IG caption, Kane said "One more to go!" referring to how many rappers left he wants to interview. That rapper turns out to be another legend from the Golden era. Kane told HipHopDX he is trying to get MC Lyte as the last interview for the documentary.

There is no release date yet for the documentary. But we can't wait for this to drop.
