Okayafrica Audio: Blitz The Ambassador — "African In New York"

Over a self-produced track, African hip-hop artist Blitz The Ambassadorrecounts the stories of African immigrants taking on the Big Apple with "African In New York." The track premiered on Okayafrica today and is our most recent taste of what to expect from his upcoming The Warm Up EP, due out next month. The beat and lyrics feature equally fresh elements and give me a lot to look forward to from Blitz in the very near future. Check out a bit of what Okayafrica said about the single and stream it below:

Flipping a couple well known sound bytes — one from the 1988 classic Coming to Americaand another from Jay Z‘s “99 Problems” — Blitz gives us a glimpse into the royal arrival and humble adaptation of the African migrant to the big city. From a model’s aspirations to dollar cabs, the Ambassador tells the real hustler’s story, going in over a lively guitar and bass combo. With real in-studio instrumentation — produced by Blitz himself  — and exceptionally dope lyrics, Blitz continues to show us why he’s more than just your average master of ceremonies.
