OKP Video Premiere: Australian Soul Powerhouse Grace Performs "You Don't Own Me" Live In Sydney

Channeling the vocal greats of yesterday with a captivating prowess, rising Australian soul singer Grace is a name you better get familiar with. With a poise that belies her tender 18 years and a strong grasp of melody, Grace has been making major waves with her single "You Don't Own Me," a new R&B take on a classic Lesley Gore tune that blends a timeless self-assertion with sultry modern moods. The recording reached #1 on the Australian ARIA charts, and as it continues to gain steam with American audiences, Okayplayer is very proud to present the world video premiere of a live performance of the track.

Shot earlier this summer at The Basement in Sydney, the clip is a high-class rework of Grace's now-platinum studio take, with its knocking hip-hop kick drums and a featured verse from G-Eazy being traded in for clean guitars and a gentler waltz feel. Still, this new rendition of "You Don't Own Me" is nothing if not fierce, with the Brisbane native's voice inundating every beat and bar. Grace's debut EP Memo is currently for sale on iTunes, and you can watch the new live performance below. Things are looking bright for the young Australian soul siren--the future belongs to her and nobody else.
