Production duo K-Salaam and Beatnick just put out their highly anticipated Common S.T.O.R.Y. (Stories Told Over Remixed Years) project. The album features some of Common's greatest hits remixed by K-Salaam and Beatnick. The long awaited video for Wale's "Nike Boots" is finally done. As old as it is, the song is still hot. The vid was directed by Chris Robinson at Howard Homecoming and Club Love in D.C. Cameos include 9th Wonder, Bun B, Young Chris and more.
You should remember Colin Munroe from that "I Want Those Flashing Lights" video he did, and now he's back with more. Dallas Austin presents his artist Colin Munroe with this mixtape, Colin Munroe Is The Unsung Hero. The tape features Wale, Black Milk, Drake, Joell Ortiz, Mickey Factz, Skyzoo and more. Joell Ortiz and Immortal Technique hook up to put some visuals behind their song "Modern Day Slavery." The song is off of Joell's '07 release The Brick: Bodega Chronicles. The video was directed by Carl Allegard.
Looks like that Miles Remixed project by The Apple Juice Kid really influenced some people. Above is a video done by Batallion Armour for Apple Juice's "Masco," and below is a song done by emcee Intalek called "Watch This"over Juice's "BustaMiles ." As a bonus, here is an interview The Apple Juice Kid did with Elitaste, to help you get to know the man behind the boards a little better.
Here's a real interesting story as told to by ?uestlove about the late great Dilla and the creation of the beat for Black Star's "Little Brother." The story originated on the boards but was transcribed including some audio samples by FWMJ. It's a real good read and not only shows Dilla's genius, but also his humility. Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon. Follow me after the jump for details on U-N-I's December 9th show presented by Imeem in San Francisco alongside Blu, Fashawn, Richie Cunning, and Keelay & Zaire.
Here's a pleasant surprise out of left field. I know there are a lot of Jay Electronica fans out there (us included) who have been thirsty for some more material from dude. FWMJ and Jay Elec teamed up for this collection called Scratches & Demo Tape volume 1. Volume 1 includes three unfinished songs by Jay, "Annakin's Prayer," "Hagler," and "Not Too Far From Nothing." Apparently there are two more songs to come, that we will of course post as soon as Frank liberates them. Rumor has it Jay and Just Blaze shot some staight-to-web video stuff last night in NYC to go with the "Exhibit A" track.

Jay-Z just put out his latest Ode to BK with this song "Brooklyn (We Go Hard)" which is slated to appear on the the upcoming Notorious soundtrack. I'm just as critical of modern day Hova as the next man, but I've got no qualms with this one. Adding Santi for the assist was definitely a good look as well. Miss White has been on her grind.
