Yasiin Gaye strikes again! Amerigo Gazaway's brilliant Marvin vs. Mos conceptual collaboration project is back with a second installment in The Return (Side Two.) Gazaway gave us a taste of the supreme smash-up styles he had planned with "Traveling Man (Distant Lovers Mix)" and a brief teaser of Black Dante spitting over the sonic collider's accompanying blends. The project's architect has also made it explicitly clear that its was matter of tact that brought these particular tracks to him for the chop, as he intended to showcase The Marvelous One's often slept-on productions, drawing the gap between contemporary sample-based production and the organic soul of Gaye's compositions that much closer. Those who dabbled in Gazaway's madness in the inaugural offering will find that it's dopeness remains intact, evading the "outtake LP" label. Its another formidable offering from mad-chopper, providing us with a profound audible alignment of funk & soul's cosmos.
